2000s Were A Bummer!

January 4, 2010      Admin

Sorry to start the new year (and decade) with a downer of a headline, but there’s a silver lining here … it can only get better!

Pew Research recently asked Americans for their "overall impression" of the last five decades. Here are full results.

As you see, the 2000s were a real bummer — 50% negative. No decade comes close! The single word most used to describe the 2000s … "downhill."

However, the big surprise — and disappointment — for The Agitator was the almost as low rating for the 60s, at least in terms of positives. Everyone knows the 60s were the only decade that mattered since WWII!

Actually, the question wasn’t aimed at establishing the "best" or "most important" or "most socially catalytic" decade; it merely sought positive or negative impressions.

That gives some consolation to us (Tom and Roger), who think that life is purely about rocking the boat!

Anyway, we wish all our fellow Agitators a great 2010 and decade ahead. Happily, the public seems to be positive (59%) about where we’re headed.
