At a time when the Buffett gift is generating a lot of media attention about charities and their stewardship, it's worth revisiting this report from Public Agenda on donor attitudes toward charities. Good work despite its sometimes bated- breath tone and hyperbolic descriptions. The study, sponsored by the Kettering Foundation and Independent Sector takes the pulse of the “Charitable Impulse” of today's donors and finds it throbbingly healthy. In short, all is well.

BUT…right under the surface lurk donor feelings that should concern us all.

Well worth the read. Especially for CEOs, Boards, Fundraisers and anyone else who needs a dose of reality — and a large helping of humility.
