Study after study, Agitator post after Agitator post, warn that failure to properly and promptly thank and recognize donors is a sure fire way to lose them.
So, rather than preach this again for the umpteenth time, learn first hand from Anne Schneider, a real, live donor, why slow or no thanks drives donors away.
Shanon Doolittle and Chris Davenport head of Movie Mondays have produced this simple, and all-powerful donor interview.
View it right here.
There simply is NO excuse for NOT promptly and properly thanking your donors.
None. Nada. Period.

P.S. An Agitator raise to Anne, Shanon and Chris with our thanks.
P.P.S. For tons of helpful posts on proper Thank Yous and recognition just go to The Agitator’s search function and type in ‘Thank You’.
P.P.P.S. Also, do yourself a favor: bookmark — and use — Lisa Sargent’s Thank You Letter Clinic at SOFII.org.
Thanks for always spreading the word about the thank you clinic, Roger. It’s a happy to day to live in the same blog post with Shanon and Chris. 🙂
Weird? Stupid? Amazing? Incongruous? That people (adult people even) could delay thank yous. Could think that thanks just isn’t that important. That timeliness doesn’t really matter because “we the organization” are so busy with our important mission work that nothing else matters.
Why would I think you’re competent in your mission when I experience your incompetence in thank you?
We want to WOW our donors, but sadly most WOWs are bad ones. Really thanking a donor quickly and without asking for another gift is an easy WOW any nonprofit can do. WOW http://bit.ly/1UTGQdU
