June 16, 2014      Admin

Nonprofit Tech for Good recently proffered 14 “Must Know” stats about fundraising, social media and mobile technology.

Here are six to tease you on a Monday morning. I can tell you’re not quite ready yet for heavy lifting this week.

1. Responsive design increases giving 96% on mobile and tablet … 126% on mobile.

2. 59% of those who engage with nonprofits via social media have been inspired further to donate money … and 53% to volunteer.

3. For every 1,000 fundraising emails sent a nonprofit raises $17.

4. The average nonprofit crowdfunding campaign raises $9,237.

5. Custom-branded donate pages nested inside a nonprofit’s website raise 6X more money than generic pages.

6. About 3 in 10 nonprofits are experimenting with Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and/or LinkedIn.

There’s plenty more info here. Each of fourteen graphics clicks you through to a relevant infographic with heaps more data. Enough to satisfy the most addicted dataheads.

“For every 1,000 fundraising emails sent a nonprofit raises $17.” Eek…I’ll remember that next time someone tells me fundraisers need to be focusing all of their efforts on online giving.

  2. Yup. General rule of thumb seems to be that mail is 5X – 10X more effective than email, and phone is 5X – 10x more effective than mail.
