For Fundraiser Introverts

Which way would you have it …?

Fundraisers should be introverts, because this more introspective personality type would be better suited for getting ‘inside the heads’ of donors and tapping their core emotional motivations.

Or,

Fundraisers should be extroverts, because they are more naturally equipped with the engagement skills that would better attune them to interacting with donors and building relationships.

I’ll speak up today for the introverts, but not with any heavy-duty analysis.

In keeping with The Agitator’s new (as of last week) ‘August Frivolous Friday’ policy, here’s some amusement at the expense of my fellow introverts.

  1. Ambiverts, according to Daniel Pink of “To Sell is Human,” have the overall advantage! Those who will be most successful will understand that their real business is serving their customers’ needs. You must be adept at both selling and listening. 🙂
