Bioscrypt, a Toronto company, has developed a webcam-like device that utilizes 3D face recognition technology to authenticate the user of the attached computer.
In other words, you turn on your computer, it looks you over, recognizes you (hopefully), and lets you proceed.
To make the match, it compares the real live you with 40,000 points of recognition from an image of yourself you've previously loaded. Voice recognition is so passe' don't you think?
No word on what happens with false moustaches, different facial expressions, increasing wrinkles, new hairdos, group photos … or rubber masks.
Think about the new relationships you could forge if your computer recognized and presented you to the world as George Clooney or Angelina Jolie.
