Mobile Fundraising … Ready Yet?
With virtually everyone using mobile devices these days, what is the potential for fundraising through this channel?
First the latest stats from comScore (September 2010, all US):
- 234 million mobile device users over age 13
- 59 million using smart phones
- 67% of users text
- 35% of users access their web browser
- 23% of users access social nets
Huge penetration for this channel. So what to do with it?

And here from boston interactive is an article that puts mobile use into broader perspective (thanks to Dan Kirsch for the pointer). It notes, for example, that over 99% of all text messages are read by the recipient and over 90% are read within 3 minutes of being received. Wouldn’t you like you like to see open rates like that for your email appeals!
