More On Peer-To-Peer Fundraising
At The Agitator, we pride ourselves on eclecticism and mixing it up. Therefore, when we publish two posts in a row on the same theme it constitutes a trend! So today I’ll stick with the trend and offer perhaps an unprecedented three in a row on one theme — peer-to-peer or DIY fundraising.
From MobileCause, here’s more advice as you ponder DIY’s place in your fundraising quiver.
In the form of a webinar, titled: Create a Crowdfunding Movement that Inspires Donors to Do More Than Just Give. The ‘webinar’ is actually a PDF with three presentations on crowdfunding and peer-to-peer fundraising.
Some interesting stats from MobileCause … note the participation by Millenials and the use of mobile devices:
The presentations are short and sweet … with tips I think you’ll find useful re using videos, training kits for volunteers, using ‘thermometers’ , creating personal fundraiser pages, effective landing pages and more.
Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing Tom!
You guys should do an in depth analysis of costs versus direct mail and then of course Lifetime Value averages of the new donors coming from each methodology…
That would be very interesting to see, Jay!
Indeed, that would be an interesting study. Were I still in the trenches, I wouldn’t wait for it however. All signs point to “go” for this being a great future donor acquisition strategy. Of course, making it worth the investment over the long term means also investing in an intentional relationship building plan for these supporters. They can’t simply be thrown into the same old communications strategy. One size no longer fits all (if it ever did).
