Stats Trivia For Every Taste

January 6, 2007      Admin

Perhaps overlooked in the holiday rush, the US Census Bureau has just released the Statistical Abstract for the United States: 2007.

Their own press release headlined the fact that American adults and teens will spend five months (3518 hours) watching television, surfing the internet, reading newspapers, and listening to personal music devices. That's almost half their lives!

However, our personal favorite is the stat on the continuing success of the greatest marketing coup of all time … selling bottled water. Consumption of bottled water in the US reached 23.2 gallons per capita in 2004, up from just 2.7 gallons per capita in 1980.

You can't be a certified datahead without your own personal copy … only $39 for a hardbound edition (hardbound will stand up better to all the thumbing through you'll be doing).
