Today You Get The Benefit Of The Doubt

June 28, 2011      Admin

In yesterday’s post, we offered Agitator readers the opportunity to participate, at our expense, in a project we’ve designed to crack the nut on donor retention … to ‘prove out’ a strategy for curbing donor defection.

Roger and I think this is hugely important. Because from previous reader surveys and the hard data trend reports from Target Analysis, we know most organizations’ retention rates suck, with tremendous loss of revenue. So in case you missed our invitation — we know long summer weekends are lulling many of our readers — we want to re-extend it.

We simply can’t believe that any fundraiser worth their salt would knowingly pass up a free opportunity to discover a way to slay the beast of donor defection!

So today only, we’ll give you the benefit of the doubt … you must have simply overlooked our invite!

Hmmmm, we don’t have 10,000 donors…if we did I wouldn’t be so worried about retention.

I think my higher ups would be uncomfortable with giving someone access to our database so maybe that’s why some others didn’t step forward?? Just a thought.

If I had individual donors, I would jump at the chance. Since I aspire to acquire and thus inevitably lose some individual donors in the not too distant future, I look forward to seeing the results!

Just a plea for those of us with a June 30 fiscal year end: we can’t even begin to THINK about participating for at least another couple of weeks… perhaps by mid-July we’ll be able to take a look at this!
