We’re Stoked!

October 28, 2011      Admin

Roger and I have just seen the latest CBS News/NY Times poll that says 43% of Americans agree with the views of the “Occupy Wall Street” movement. Only 27% disagree; 30% are unsure.

As reported by CBS News’ Political Hotsheet:

“While there are different agendas within the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ movement, nearly all of the protesters say that wealth has become too concentrated among a relatively small group of Americans. The poll found that most Americans agree with that assessment: Two in three say that wealth is not distributed as equitably as it should be, while just one in four says wealth is distributed fairly.”

We’re stoked.

This is the kind of citizen uprising that put the two of us together forty-some years ago at the launch of Common Cause.

We’re glad to see that kind of energy hit the streets today … empowered by a lot more technology than we had available in 1970. You might enjoy this brief ‘case study’ — presented by Roger on SOFII with the original creative work — on how Common Cause’s then-unprecedented grassroots fundraising was launched.

I love the redesign of the Agitator. But now the type size (at least the way it renders for me) is waaaaaaaaaay too small. Just thought you should know.

    Best,

My associate Joe Churpek and I just finished a qualitative research project interviewing the protesters in Zuccotti Park and asking them “are nonprofits part of the solution?”

You can see the blog and watch the video interviews here. I think you will be jazzed about what they say.
